RARE BREED YOKOHAMA RED SADDLE FERTILE HATCHING POULTRY EGGS PHOENIX LONG TAIL
RARE BREED 6 FERTILE Red Saddle Yokohama PHOENIX Large Fowl Hatching Eggs Tested ……..NOTE: FOR UK DELIVERY ONLY. Please check for availability.....🤞🏻before ordering.
This listing is for 6 RARE BREED Red Saddle Yokohama Phoenix hatching eggs! These large fowl eggs are tested and their hatch rate is very good. The hatch time is 21 days. They can be incubated under correct settings or put under a reliable broody hen. The breed is known for their beautiful red and white feathers and an exceptionally long elegant white tail, making them a unique and highly sought after addition to poultry collections. The Yokohama is a smallish chicken with an unusually long tail, and long trailing saddle feathers. It has a pea- or walnut-comb. The beak, legs and feet are yellow. The eggs are from previous show winning stock.
If you love the Yokohama or Phoenix Bird you might know that in Japanese art, the Phoenix bird is often featured on trees with its long tails flowing very decoratively, whether on pottery, paintings, jade stone, etc. (I have some of these in my listings if you want to have a look under Phoenix…👀)
The Yokohama is kept mainly for showing. Full-sized hens lay about 80 eggs per year; they are tinted and weigh about 40g.
These fertile eggs are perfect for those looking to breed or raise their own chickens. Yokohama Phoenix breed, a rare and valuable addition to your collection.
NB:
RELIABLE FERTILITY. WE HATCH OUT ALL OUR OWN EGGS SO WE KNOW THEY ARE FERTILE BUT PLEASE Bear IN MIND THAT EGGS SENT THROUGH THE POST WE CANNOT GUARANTEE FERTILITY. (I have recently incubated 12 eggs and they were all fertile.)

RESEARCH NOTES:
The Yokohama is a German breed of fancy chicken, with unusual colouring and very long tail-feathers. It was created by Hugo du Roi in the 1880s, and derives from ornamental birds brought to Europe from Japan in the second half of the nineteenth century.
In Germany two colours are recognised, white and red-saddled. In the United Kingdom, where the name Yokohama is used also for the birds known in Germany as Phoenix, there are several more colours in addition to red-saddled and white; these include black-tailed buff, blue-red, spangled, 328 black-red, golden duckwing and silver duckwing. In the United States, the red-saddled (red-shouldered) and white varieties were added to the Standard of Perfection in 1981.
The earliest recorded long-tailed fowls were found in China and sent home by Japanese diplomatic representatives. This was sometime between AD 600 and 800 in our calendar. Not all accounts agree about dates and details of events so long ago. The original type birds were called Shokoku in Japan, and from them were developed several other Japanese longtailed breeds, which are summarised at the end of this Standard. Several of these Japanese long-tailed breeds were exported to Europe, the first recorded by M. Girard, a French missionary, in 1864. These and later shipments were consigned from the port of Yokohama, which became the name by which all long-tailed fowls were called by Europeans who were not able, or did not bother, to discover the true breed names and details from Japanese experts. A leading German fancier, Hugo du Roi, bred and promoted the red lobed and, somewhat gamey, red saddled white Yokohama (circa 1880), but it is not clear if he made them himself by crossing various imports or actually imported birds of this colour and type. This variety is unknown in Japan now, but might have existed then. In an effort to bring some order to their assortment of imported types, German fanciers restricted the name Yokohama to the red saddled whites, and invented a new name, Phoenix, for the white lobed, single combed type. British fanciers formed a Yokohama Club about 1904 and decided to use that name for all types; which is why we now have one very long and complex Standard for what really should be several breeds. Yokohama bantams were made by various German fanciers by crossing large Yokohamas with assorted bantams of appropriate colours.
I will try post eggs Monday to Thursday so eggs will not sit in the post over the weekend unless requested otherwise.

I use and recommend Brinsea Maxi II Eco (30 hens eggs). Even when you are incubating 6 eggs it gives plenty of room for the newly hatched to stay together waiting for all to hatch. I have had more success with this model than any other.
Hatching Eggs Are Very Sensitive to disturbance. I cushion eggs with tissue paper within the poly box and send they double boxed for the best possible journey. This still does not prevent Courier damage in some cases. Though I have found only egg broken in the post, during the last two years. ……….So if you want EGGS "Through Postal System" then Hatching will be your own risk.
Collection in person can be arranged and is preferable to ensure the best hatch rate.
All eggs posted will be under 5 days old. The laying dates will be on each egg in pencil.
Eggs will be posted on a one day delivery In a polystyrene egg box, double boxed.
I relist regularly as a BUY IT NOW item according to availability. Message me if you have a special order in mind.

Normally Hatching rate of Posted Eggs are about 70% and if you collect in person it’s over 90%. (Thats only my previous experiance and not gurantee). If eggs do get broken in the post, or 3 or more do not hatch, I need to see photographic evidence that the eggs have been sent by me with their pencil marks in tact. Please get in touch for special day deliveries in advance so that I can accommodate your request IF POSSIBLE.
YOU ARE WELCOME to pick up your eggs in person from FERNDOWN, DORSET if preferred.
